Zone 1 covers the iconic Ranthambore Fort area and the famous lakes — Padam Talab and Rajbagh. This is the most sought-after zone for tiger sightings near water.
Zones are allotted by the Forest Department — no agency can guarantee a specific zone. You can request zones 1–5 and we will put Zone 1 — Ranthambore Fort & Lakes forward, but the final allocation is theirs. Open every day except Wednesday, from October to June. Closed for the whole monsoon season, July to September.
About Zone 1 — Ranthambore Fort & Lakes
Zone 1 is the crown jewel of Ranthambore National Park. It encompasses the majestic Ranthambore Fort — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — along with the picturesque Padam Talab and Rajbagh lakes. Tigers are frequently spotted resting near the water's edge, especially during summer months when they come to cool off. The dramatic backdrop of the ancient fort ruins against the forest makes this zone a photographer's paradise. Key locations include Singhdwar, Raipur, Sultanpur, and Kalapan. The zone covers approximately 20 km of forest trails.
