Zone 4 — Kachida Valley
Zone 4 covers the rocky Kachida Valley and surrounding areas of Lakarda, Berda, and Adidant — known for sloth bears, leopards, and dramatic rocky terrain.
Zones are allotted by the Forest Department — no agency can guarantee a specific zone. You can request zones 1–5 and we will put Zone 4 — Kachida Valley forward, but the final allocation is theirs. Open every day except Wednesday, from October to June. Closed for the whole monsoon season, July to September.
About Zone 4 — Kachida Valley
Zone 4 is unique in Ranthambore for its dramatic rocky terrain and the famous Kachida Valley. This zone is the best in the park for sloth bear sightings — the rocky outcrops and caves provide ideal habitat for these elusive animals. Leopards are also frequently spotted here. The zone covers approximately 27 km through Lakarda, Berda, and Adidant, offering a very different landscape compared to the lake zones. The rocky hillsides are also home to numerous bird species including raptors that nest in the cliff faces.
