Zone 7 — Khelda & Chidikho
Zone 7 covers Chidikho and Kushalidarra — a compact 12 km route known for sambar deer, wild boar, and excellent bird watching in the buffer forest.
Zones are allotted by the Forest Department — no agency can guarantee a specific zone. You can request zones 6–10 and we will put Zone 7 — Khelda & Chidikho forward, but the final allocation is theirs. Open every day except Tuesday, all year round — including through the monsoon.
About Zone 7 — Khelda & Chidikho
Zone 7 is one of the more compact buffer zones, covering Chidikho and Kushalidarra over approximately 12 km. The zone is known for large sambar deer populations and wild boar sightings. The shorter route makes it a good option for visitors with limited time. The zone is also popular with bird watchers, with numerous species of kingfishers, bee-eaters, and other forest birds commonly seen. Like all buffer zones, Zone 7 is open year-round and offers a more affordable safari option.
