About Zone 9 — Qualji & Pandu Kho
Zone 9 is unique among Ranthambore's safari zones for offering the possibility of seeing striped hyenas and Indian wolves — species that are rarely seen in other zones. The zone covers Qualji, Ghati ka Tiraha, and Pandu Kho over approximately 22 km. The terrain is more open and scrubby compared to the dense forest of the core zones, which makes it easier to spot these elusive carnivores. The zone is also home to large populations of nilgai and chinkara (Indian gazelle). For wildlife enthusiasts interested in seeing beyond tigers, Zone 9 offers a unique experience.
